Consider a scenario where you attend a team meeting involving various providers. Each provider arrives in their respective vehicles, and unfortunately, some may make assumptions about you based on your car.

I recall working with a family in an affluent neighborhood and experiencing judgment due to the car I drove at the time. As a behavioral assistant, I found that these perceptions could sometimes influence how families and colleagues viewed my professionalism and capability. Over time, when my finances allowed, I chose to invest in a better vehicle to minimize such perceptions. Interestingly, nowadays, some people express surprise when they see a behavioral assistant driving a car of that caliber.

The reality is that, in our profession, first impressions can matter significantly. While the quality of our work is paramount, the image we present can also affect how we are perceived and treated by clients and colleagues. Investing in a reliable and respectable vehicle can help convey professionalism and build trust more quickly.
