As Behavioral assistants, our main sources of referrals are two agencies: Mobile Response and the Care Management Organization (CMO). These agencies play a vital role in connecting us with families in need of our support. Understanding the referral process and mastering our approach to family outreach are essential components of our work.
Rather than receiving direct calls, we receive referrals from Mobile Response and CMO. These referrals provide detailed information about the challenges or issues faced by the families. Each referral outlines the specific areas where our intervention is needed. This structured approach ensures that we have a clear understanding of the family’s needs before we make contact.
Once we receive a referral, our responsibility is to organize the necessary paperwork and implement solutions based on the therapists’ recommendations. This process involves a thorough review of the referral details, preparation of required documents, and formulation of a plan that aligns with the therapeutic goals set by the referring agency. Attention to detail and meticulous organization are crucial to ensure that our interventions are effective and aligned with the family’s needs.
Navigating referrals and family outreach as a Behavioral assistant requires a blend of organizational skills and compassionate communication. By mastering these aspects, we can effectively support families and help them navigate their challenges.
